Q-HOUSE

The Building is located at the intersections of Wireless, Sathorn, and Rama IV Roads, creating an important urban element on one of the most prominent intersections in Bangkok.

The complex is divided into 3 main zones; the office tower, a public Plaza, and a low rise building which houses restaurants, health  and commercial activities. The Building shape takes advantage of the exposure and location of the building site.  In order to emphasize the plaza and to create a unique building form, the Tower is tapered on two sides.  This taper also refers to traditional Thai architecture with the walls slightly off perpendicular. The roof shapes identify the complex from near and afar.  They are influence by Thai motifs and forms and are gold in color, to reflect light both day and night.  A large grid is imposed on the façade to add scale and color to the monochrome glass.

The large plaza fronts on Sathorn Road and is accessible to pedestrians.  It acts as the terminal space for the East end of Sathorn Road.  The building also links to the public communication in the vicinity of the building.

The two different zones of the building are expressed on the exterior with the gold grid being the dominant element unifying both major building elements. The lower roof, which sits on a circular platform, reflects in smaller scale the main Tower roof.

Large height public spaces on the ground floor allow visual access from the plaza.  The main plaza is kept vehicle free.  Access is from the South side of the building with direct connection to the main lobby.

The building is 38 story high with a 5 level basement.  The main materials are concrete structure, glass curtain wall and  gold colored  aluminum tower pinnacles and accents.

Location: Sathorn, Bangkok, Thailand
